What is Mobile Deposit?
Mobile Deposit allows you to deposit checks using the camera on your mobile phone.

How do I apply for Mobile Deposit?

What are the requirements for Mobile Deposit?

  • You must have a checking account with Winter Hill Bank that has been open for at least 90 days
  • Your checking account must be in good standing
  • You must have a valid email address on file with the bank
  • You must use an iPhone or Android Smartphone to use Mobile Deposit

What accounts can I deposit into?

You may only make mobile deposits to checking accounts.

How do I endorse the check?
Each check should be endorsed as follows:

Is there a limit to the number of checks or the dollar amount I can deposit?
You may deposit as many checks as you like but the total deposit amount you can deposit in one business day is $2,500.

Can I increase the amount that I am allowed to deposit per day?
Yes, please contact us online or visit any one of our Branch Offices to apply for an increase in your daily limit. Once your application has been reviewed, we will inform you if your limit increase has been approved.

What types of checks can be processed through Mobile Deposit?
Personal and business U.S. checks can be processed through Mobile Deposit. Checks from Canada and other foreign countries, savings bonds and poor image quality checks must be deposited at the bank.

When will deposits be credited into my account?
Checks deposited before 3 p.m. on a business day that we are open are generally credited to your account within two business days.

Will I receive a text message that my deposit was made?
No. In order to check on the status of a deposit, use the Deposit History section of the Mobile Deposit application.

How do I prevent checks from being scanned and deposited twice?
The software has built-in duplicate detection tools that usually detect items already deposited. If the software detects potential duplicate checks, an alert prompts you to make a decision about the items in question.

How do I know the image quality is acceptable?
The software has an Image Quality Assessment (IQA) tool that automatically identifies problems with the check image. If a problem is detected, you’ll be asked to retake the photo.

Are there fees for using Mobile Deposit?

  • Winter Hill Bank provides Mobile Deposit for free
  • Other fees may still apply, however; such as those for returned item or overdrafts, per item charges, and mobile carrier fees

How do I make a Mobile Deposit?
Step-by-Step Instructions:

  • Log into the Winter Hill Bank App
  • Select Deposit
  • Select New Deposit
  • Enter the Amount of the Deposit
    For whole dollars, do not use the decimal point or zeros.
    Enter $20.00 as 20
    For amounts with change, include the decimal point.
    Enter $25.21 as 25.21
  • Select Continue
  • Follow the on screen instructions to take a picture of the front and back of the check
  • Click Use
  • Click Yes

Mobile Deposit Helpful Tips

  • Flatten folded or crumpled checks before taking a picture
  • Capture the photos of your check in a well-lit area
  • Place your check on a solid dark background
  • Keep your phone flat and steady above the check when taking a picture
  • Make sure that the entire check image is visible and in focus before submitting your deposit
