Technology Generalist

Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the Bank’s Vice President MIS Manager, the Technology Generalist assists in maintaining and performing daily activities of the Information Technology Department in conformance with established policies, procedures and objectives. This position is driven by time sensitive tasks, deadlines, audits and regulatory requirements that requires a self-motivated, organized, detailed oriented individual. Excellent interpersonal skills including strong written and verbal communication are essential to convey critical information to all levels within the organization and vendors.

The Primary Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following duties.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide general support to users in all areas of PC usage including applications, systems and hardware, including mobile devices.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems and quickly resolve issues.
  • Maintain current knowledge of IT standards and practices as applicable to the banking industry.
  • Monitor and support Winter Hill Bank’s LAN/WAN network including maintenance of router and switch configurations.
  • Setup and installation of computer equipment and systems.
  • Maintenance of the Bank’s electronic message center.
  • Coordinate third-party maintenance for network hardware, software, and telecommunications services.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts.
  • Perform regularly scheduled system tasks including system back-up and test restorations, PC and server patch management, production software updates, preparation of management reports and database maintenance in accordance with bank policies and procedures.
  • Identify, define and accurately document all detected / reported problems and support activities into the IT service request tracking system.

Other Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the research and implementation of IT system enhancements, new and existing.
  • Assist in the planning and presentation of IT training and meetings at all levels of the organization.
  • Assist in ensuring the Bank’s adherence to current State and Federal regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory and audit documentation requests.
  • Record minutes of ITLC committee meetings.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with a minimum of 2 years technology experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft operating systems, Office suite and networks.
  • CompTIA A+ desktop certification preferred.
  • Experience with Fiserv banking applications preferred.
  • Experience with Web/HTML, WordPress, social media management and VMWare is a plus.
  • Must have flexibility with schedule and be available to work additional night/weekend hours as needed for emergency or off-hour system support.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle for travel to bank sites and meetings when needed. Auto insurance policy must be current, in good standing and properly maintained.


Bank Tellers – Full-Time

Full-Time Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Management Staff, performs a variety of customer service and related duties to provide assistance to the Bank’s customers in conformance with established Bank policies and operating procedures.

The Primary Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following duties.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Process a variety of customer transactions, e.g., deposits, withdrawals, mortgage payments etc. Cash checks within limits of established policy, verifies amount, examines checks for endorsement, verifies signatures and customer balances.
  • Organizes workstation for day’s activities, e.g., inventories and requests cash as may be needed; verifies cash upon receipt; obtains necessary forms and other supplies.
  • Enters customers’ transactions into computer to record transactions and issues computer generated receipts.
  • Places holds on accounts for various reasons such as uncollected funds, out of state checks, etc.
  • Sells money orders, treasurer’s checks, gift cards, foreign currency and other bank related products. Redeems United States Savings Bonds for customers. Processes various payments.
  • Balances transactions and cash upon completion of assigned shift by comparing totaled amounts with data recorded on computer. Performs “after-hours” work, e.g., reconciling bank checks, money orders etc. and scanning daily work and Bank documents as needed.
  • Performs related customer service duties as requested. Discusses Bank Products and Services that will benefit the individual customer’s needs and responds to customers inquiries. Refer problems or concerns to supervisor for further action as needed.

Other Responsibilities include:

  • May perform a variety of related clerical and/or support functions as assigned, i.e., routine correspondence, filing, typing, maintenance of records, data entry, scanning, back up to CSR where applicable and safe deposit box.
  • May provide assistance to Management Staff as needed.
  • May verify miscellaneous reports regarding customer accounts.
  • May provide services at drive-up window or branch offices as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with customers.
  • Organizational and exceptional customer service skills required.
  • Excellent communication, typing and computer skills.
  • Ability to utilize various types of office equipment.
